dear destiny,

Okay, so I haven’t really blogged in awhile, since the day that Lyn went to California, and since today was definitely a great day, I thought I’d blog about it. Okay so..

Woke up pretty early today, cause I slept in Felmar’s room since Dhan slept over last night. Woke up, didn’t really do anything, so we just hung out fer a while, until Felmar told us that he was going to be seeing Kung Fu Panda 2 with Elaine nd Irisjoy later, so we decided to tag along. So, we all got ready, and Dhan left to get ready at his house. Then I went with Felmar to go pick up Elaine and Irisjoy, it was really nice out, so I was only wearing a beater nd shorts, even though I have a cold. We picked them up and headed to the theater, where we were supposed to meet up with Dhan, but he wasn’t there yet. I bought him his ticket, so I had to wait for him, and by doing so, I missed the first 30 minutes of the movie.. Oh well right? We were able to catch up with the movie, and it turned out to be really good. Didn’t expect it to be that great because normally the first movies are better than their sequels, but I think I like the second one better, more action.

So after the movie, we went down to Evanston beach, since it was really hot out. We saw some people we knew, but since it was really crowded we didn’t stay very long. My mom ended up calling us too, saying that there were people at the house for a Memorial Day BBQ, but we had no idea that we were having one, so we went home. We came home to a lot of relatives including family from Michigan, which was really nice, since we don’t see them often. It was also nice because Irisjoy has a new playmate, she was able to play with Cedric, since they were the same age. So the day went on, it was more or less like our normal parties, eat and just hang out at the house. 

Then we decided on going back to the beach. Since it was our original plan in the first place, to spend time at the beach, but we would have been going to a different beach anyway. We ended up not going because Felmar got tired after having to run errands for my mom to make the party work out better since we were completely unprepared for it. So instead of going to the beach, we stayed at the house and waited for more people to come by, and just ate more.

So after more people arrived, mainly Ericson, Jojo, Benson, and Julian.. we waited for them to eat, and we decided to go to the park to go play ball. We all walked to the park together, in our “huge crew” like how we always would before, it was SOO nice, can’t even stress how much I missed doing that. There was.. in my attempt to list us by age.. Ebot, Elaine, Felmar, Me, Dhan, Benson, Julian, Ericson, Gladys, Jojo, Irisjoy, and Cedric. I hope I got that right.. hah!

When we got to the park, we split into two groups, the little kids went to the park with Elaine, and everyone else went to the court. I went to the court of course, and we warmed up by playing a few games of Knockout, then it got to the fun part. We decided to split up into teams, 3v4. 2s and 3s up to 21, really short games but soo much fun. I was with Dhan and Ericson versing Felmar, Ebot, Julian, and Benson, the teams were REALLY even, so it was really fun. Ebot didn’t take us so seriously until the second half of the first game, but we still won. The second game was when it became intense. Benson got tired, so he sat out, and it was just 3v3 now, Felmar, Ebot, and Julian vs Me, Dhan, and Ericson. Still.. SOO even.

We started off the game, and everyone was “ALL ON”. Unlike the first game, where we started off pretty slow, we started off going at it really hard. Ebot and Felmar were on fire, with the occasional assist by Julian, but that doesn’t mean our defense was tight. Both team’s offense and defense was really tight. The score was I believe 17 to 14, with us in the lead, when things got even more serious. The defense was crazy, and everyone was at the top of their game, no holding back. Felmar, Ebot, and even Julian scored, with our team only scoring once, getting the score to 20 to 19, with them now in the lead.

This was it, everything was on the line now. Ebot’s team had the ball, and our team was on defense. Ebot checked the ball with Dhan, and quickly passed to Felmar, but was too early and Felmar couldn’t get to the ball in time, causing it to bounce out of bonds and giving us possession. The excitement level rose in our teams spirit, for we now had a greater chance at winning the game.

It was our ball now. Ericson checked the ball and passed to me. I was guarded by Ebot on the outside and Julian was on engson, so I had to get rid of the ball. I bounce passed it between Ebot and Felmar to Dhan who was driving in, but Felmar was able to get a piece of the ball causing the ball to go loose. Luckily, Dhan was able to recover it and still drive in. He put it up for the layup to win the game and missed causing everyone to jump for the rebound. Only Ebot was able to touch it nd he ended up tipping the ball into the basket “ON ACCIDENT” and we fuckin won! 21 to 20! IT WAS TOO INTENSE!! 

Definitely could’ve gone into more detail with that last play, for it is still running through my mind like crazy, since it was really just that intense of a game. I swear, I would rather watch that game than the Bull’s playoff games, cause it was really, that intense. You had to be there, just to get a hint of the excitement within all of us playing that game. WAYY too much fun.

After that, we were all completely worn out, since we did go “all in” in that last game. So worn out to the point where we didn’t want to play anymore. At this point, Hazel was now at the park, and all the kids, including Elaine were tired too, so Hazel drove them home. Everyone else, on the other hand walked back to the house, exhausted, but in a good way. We were all really happy, and I could tell by the look on each of our faces that we all had a really good time.

We got back to the house, and Ebot decided to leave right away. We hung out for awhile, and the party resumed like it normally does. Everyone ate, drank, rested, and just hung out until someone decided to leave, cause once one family leaves, everyone leaves. After everyone left, I continued with my daily life, and everything in the house went back to normal, which is pretty obvious at this point especially since I’m on Tumblr.

Well, that was my Memorial Day 2011, one of the greatest days of the year so far, and definitely much needed. It was honestly like a “blast from the past”, just walking to the park during a party at my house to go ball, but with everyone much older. I definitely want a repeat of today, and it was definitely a “day for 2006”. Which was seriously the best summer. Let’s hope this one turns out to be as great as Summer 06 was.
